Bass Funeral Held Tuesday
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. for Edward Thadious Bass, 46, who died Sunday.,
A native of Nash County, he was the son of the late Louise Winstead Bass Sykes and E.T. Bass. He was a past president and a lifetime member of the Nashville Jaycees, a member of the Zoning Board and the Planning Board of the Town of Nashville and a former assistant fire chief of the Nashville Fire Department.
He was an accountant with China American Tobacco Company. Previously he had been employed by Imperial Tobacco Company for 23 years.
Services were conducted from Nashville United Methodist Church by rev. Harry Jordan. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Warren Evans, William E. Batchelor, Rex Paramore, Tim Valentine, Billy Vanhook, W.C. Cooke, Jr., Herbert Gorham and John W. Vanhook.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Betty Williamson Bass; three sons, E.T. Bass Jr. and Eugene Bass, both of the home; and Lawrence Bass of Wilmington.
