Born January 16, 1957, in Pine Bluff, he was a son of Thomas and Mary Dean Cullbreath Bass. Mr. Bass was reared and received his early education in Watson Chapel. He was a dump truck and lowboy driver. David W. Bass married Letitia Dennis on July 31, 1976, in Sulphur Springs. Mr. Bass was a member of South Pinewood Baptist Church. Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Letitia Bass of Pine Bluff; one daughter, Alecia Cooper of White Hall; one son, David S. Bass of Pine Bluff, four grandchildren; one brother, Bobby Bass of Grapevine; four sisters, Ruthie McClain of Pine Bluff, Carolyn Upshaw of Pine Bluff, Becky Harris of Star City, and Tresa White of Pine Bluff. The visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013, at South Pinewood Baptist Church with Reverend Bobby Bass officiating. Interment will be private at a later date.
