Mrs. Elizabeth S. Rodman, Widow of Admirals, Dies
Mrs. Elizabeth B. Rodman, 81, widow of Admiral Hugh Rodman, died yesterday at her apartment at the Westmoreland. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Fort Myer Chapel, with burial in Arlington National Cemetery.
The former Miss Elizabeth Sayre of Frankfort, Ky., Mrs. Rodman was married in July, 1889, when Admiral Rodman was an ensign. She was the daughter of Burwell Bassett and Mildred Ruffin Sayre. Admiral Rodman, served in the Spanish-American and Worls Wars. He was commander of United States battleships in 1918 and was later commander in chief of the Pacific fleet.
