Mrs. Henrietta Pritchett Bridges, age 88, formerly of Barnesville passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009 in Spalding County. Mrs. Bridges was a native of Lamar County, and had lived here for most of her life. Daughter of the late Dr. D.W. Pritchett and the late Mrs. Mary Bass Pritchett, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James Clifford Bridges, her brother, Mr. Harris Pritchett, and by a son, James C. Bridges, Jr.. Mrs. Bridges was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville. She was a member and Past President of The Barnesville Junior Music Club, and a member of the Rhythmic Orchestra. As a child, she entertained Miss Margaret Mitchell with violin and piano at a social gathering. Mrs. Bridges attended Bob Jones College in Greeneville, South Carolina where she attended school with Billy Graham.
Survivors include: her son - Benji Bridges, and his wife Sharon of Upson County ; three grand- daughters - Maegan N. Bridges of Thomaston, Abigail Bridges of Griffin, and Jamie Bridges of Griffin; one grandson - James Bridges, III of Griffin; & special friends - Teresa "Lilly" Rodda and Dan Akin of Williamson.
Funeral services for Mrs. Henrietta Pritchett Bridges will be conducted from the graveside on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 12 noon in Greenwood Cemetery.
