Dorothy Williamson Bass
Dorothy Williamson Bass, 82, of Morton Lane, Appomattox, passed peacefully Tuesday, September 16, 2008, joining her husband of 57 year Richard Lee (Dick) Bass in God's Kingdom.
Born in Appomattox County, June 23, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Henry Harrison and Goldie Wooten Williamson. Dot was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, the Spout Spring Ruritan Club and was an avid bingo player.
Dot was the loving mother and grandmother to her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Ronnie Nash; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Kim Bass all of Appomattox and six grandchildren, Todd Nash of Roanoke, Thomas (Chip) and wife, Annie of Lynchburg, Sarah Bass of Forest, Zachary Arritt, Kirsten Arritt and Karmen Arritt of Appomattox. She is also survived by a sister, Ruby W. Stanley of Appomattox, a number of nieces and nephews including two devoted nieces, Peggy W. Clark of Ashland Ohio and Patsy W. Lawson of Appomattox and her devoted companion, Lucky.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Dick, Andrew, Alfred and Jamie Williamson and two sisters Clara W. Stanley and Eva W. McCornick.
Funeral services were held 11:00 am, Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Rusty Small. Burial Followed in Liberty Cemetery.
Robinson Funeral Home and Cremation Service is serving the family.
