      Julius C. ?Sonny? Bass Jr.

      WARWICK-Julius C. "Sonny" Bass, Jr., of Warwick, GA passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, GA.

      A celebration of Sonny's life will begin with visitation at 1:00 p.m. followed with a service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015, Cobb Funeral Chapel, 2441 GA HWY 37 West, Moultrie, GA Interment will follow in Mt. Sinai Cemetery.

      Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers and Sonny's nurses and caregivers will serve as his honorary Pallbearers.

      Born August 10, 1948, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Julius Clenton Bass, Sr., and Grace Taylor Bass. He was preceded in death by his brother Captain John Bass of Moultrie, GA & his beloved dog "Lucky".

      He retired from Banks Boiler Service after 28 years as Service Manager.

      He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Sylvester, GA and served as a Sunday School Teacher. He loved sharing the Lord with others.

      Sonny was well known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He never met a stranger, and a stranger never forgot him. He loved being around his family and friends.

      He loved doing the "unthinkable" projects such as making the World's Largest Pecan Pie, World's Largest Pecan Sandy for the Girl Scouts, and the World's Largest Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich for the Sylvester Peanut Festival. Proceeds of these projects benefited the Shriners Children's Hospital. He loved giving to others.

      He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marilyn A. Bass, son, Jonathan Bass (Katie) of Cairo, grandchildren Sebastian, Jordan and Isabella; sister Beverly Bass Carter (Al); sisters-in-law Alice M. Bass, Moultrie, GA; Sharon A. Boree (Ro), Fleming Island, FL; brother-in-law Michael Arnold, Jacksonville, FL, nieces and nephews Brian Bass, Dawn Carter, Moultrie, GA; Erica Boree Joliceur (Curt), Jason Boree (Karen) and 2 great nephews Luke and Drew Boree of Fleming Island, FL; favorite uncle Gordon Wayne Taylor, Moultrie; and special dog "Lady."

      In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607, or a charity of your choice.

      Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
