Diane Karen Bassett
Apr 6, 1943 ? Jul 2, 2026
Diane Karen Bassett (Manske), age 83, of Menomonie, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on July 2, 2026. She was born on April 6, 1943, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to George and Florence (Schwarz) Manske. Diane grew up in Sheboygan and graduated from Sheboygan South High School. After high school, she moved to Chicago, where she worked for North Central Airlines and formed a lifelong friendship with Lorene (Aderman) Mahler.
On March 6, 1966, Diane married Charles W. Bassett in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Together they raised two children, Brian R. (Sarah) Bassett and Michelle F. (Bradley) Bassett-Shermo. Diane cherished her three beloved grandchildren-Madelyn, Luke, and Logan-and took great joy in watching them grow into the people they are today.
Diane is survived by her children, grandchildren, nieces Dena Manske of Sheboygan and Dawn (Joe) Kay of La Crosse, and her very special friend, Jim Humphrey as well as many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers Donald Manske and George Manske Jr.
Diane loved to travel and often reflected on the many adventures she enjoyed throughout her life. In her own words, "I had so many wonderful adventures and I was able to enjoy my life to its fullest." She also wrote, "When you look up in the night sky, you will see me sparkling among the stars. There is more to celebrate than there is to grieve. My greatest desire is that you trust in Jesus for your salvation, and I will wait to greet you again!"
Her family and friends will remember Diane for her warmth, her faith, her sense of adventure, and the deep love she carried for those closest to her. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives she touched.
