Martha Carol Smith Bass
Mrs. Martha Smith Bass of Carrollton died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Almon Funeral Home in Carrollton with Dr. William M. Holt and Dr. Robert Allred officiating. Burial will follow in Carrollton City Cemetery.
Mrs. Bass is survived by her husband, Dr. Eldred C. "Sonny" Bass Jr.; three daughters, Kathy Bass of Carrollton, Judy (Bill) Baisden of Madison, Miss., and Mimi (Dr. Ken) Morgan of Thomaston; one son, Chris (Cheryl) Bass of Carrollton; eight grandchildren, Kennington Bordas of Acworth, Ga., Kason Caldwell of Carrollton, Chad Baisden of Montgomery, Ala., Jason Baisden of Madison, Andrew Morgan of Athens, Ga., Ben Morgan of Carrollton, Brooke Bass of Kennesaw, Ga., and Brooke Phillips of Carrollton; and two great-grandchildren, Kaston Caldwell and Sarah Baisden.
Born Oct. 10, 1925 in Chambers County, Mrs. Bass was the daughter of the late Julius Aubrey Smith and Minnie Kennington Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Bass was a registered nurse, having trained at Jefferson Hillman Hospital in Birmingham, Ala., and was a founding member of the Carroll-Douglas-Haralson Medical Auxiliary.
