Franklin Andrew Bass
Funeral services for Franklin Andrew Bass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2020 in the House of Prayer, 701 Highway 165, Oakdale, Louisiana with Reverend Danny Swinnea and Reverend Barry Gautreaux officiating.
Committal service will follow in the Ferguson Cemetery in Chicot under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Franklin, 71, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Monday, July 13, 2020 in Opelousas. He was born September 12, 1948 in Oakdale to the union of James Carbett Bass and Lucille (Ware) Bass. In 1966, he graduated from Oakdale High School.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carbett and Lucille Bass; one son, Brian Bass; one sister, Delma Allen; one brother, Huey Bass; father-in-law, Tom Hartsfelt; and mother-in-law, Leona Frank.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Betty Sue Bass of Beaver; two sons, Shannon Bass of Beaver and Randal Bass and girlfriend, Lauren of Pine Prairie; one daughter, Candace Edwards and husband Richard of Ardmore, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren, Mark Allen, Kimberly, Richard, Bre?Anna, Andrew, Tommy,
Summer, Josiah, Brandi, Brittany, Jonah, Bethany and Daniel; five sisters, Marie of Nederland, Texas; Buela of San Angelo, Texas, Gloria of Oakdale, Frankie of Oakdale and Donna of New Orleans; one brother, Gerald of San Angelo, Texas; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be Barry Gautreaux, Jr., Richard Swinnea, Todd Fontenot, Greg Ashworth, Isaac Swinnea and Webster McDaniel III. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Paul Swinnea and Jonathon Schmid.
Visitation will be held in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., then on Thursday, July 16, 2020 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m.
?Please note, due to Louisiana State mandates, face coverings for ages 8 years and above are required, cleaning of the hands (hand sanitizer) and social distancing of 6 feet must be maintained though out the visitation in the church, chapel and cemetery. Members of the same household can be in one group. Limit number of people in the church and/or chapel. Any one not abiding with these requirements will be ask to cover face with mask or face covering or leave the premises.?
