Sharron Ann (Butler) Bass
Sharron Ann (Butler) Bass, of Cotter, Ark., passed away on January 6, 2023. Sharron was born May 9, 1944, in Raleigh, Miss. She is survived by husband, Joseph Bass; sister, Cynthia Sher; children Wendy Lilley, Adrian Bass, Holly Bujarski; grandchildren, Tyler Lilley, Colton Barton, Bailey Lilley, Nola Bujarski; five great-grandchildren. Visitation is Saturday, January 21, 4-6 p.m., at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 Highway 5 N, Alexander, Ark., 72002. The funeral service is Sunday, January 22, 2 p.m., also, at Pinecrest Funeral Home. Sharron Ann Bass (Butler) of Cotter, AR entered the gates of Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 6, 2023. Sharron was born on May 9, 1944 in Raleigh, MS, to the late Tommie Lee Butler. They moved to Memphis, TN for a few years while her father graduated from Dental School.
They moved to Morrilton, AR where she grew up and attended Morrilton High School. She was very active during her high school years including the Student Council, French Club, Devil Dolls, Cheerleading and Theater. She graduated in 1962 where she was voted the Cutest Couple with David Castleberry, AVER Beauty Queen and Head Cheerleader.
After high school she attended Arkansas State Teachers College and was selected as a cheerleader her freshman year. She decided to obtain her cosmetology license and enjoyed a successful career while in Morrilton.
In 1971 she met Jody (Joseph Henry Bass) on a blind date, and went to the Heights Movie Theater during a heavy snow and saw Doctor Zhivago. Then six months later they got married on June 24, 1972 and began their lives together with Sharron's daughter Wendy and son Beau. Two years later they were blessed with their daughter Holly Noel Bass born on Christmas Eve 1974.
Sharron was a very artistic, creative and caring woman who flourished in her different careers as a cosmetologist, stained glass artist, painter and interior designer. She was very active and enjoyed her many hobbies including golf and scuba diving with Joe and their closest friends in the Florida Keys and the Bahamas. She also enjoyed her roses, horse back riding and reading.
She always enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and nieces on their many vacations at the Florida Keys, Mexico, Petit Jean, Hot Springs, Disney World and church camps.
Joe & Sharron attended First Baptist Church in Little Rock for a few years and enjoyed their ministry there. Later, a good friend told them about a new church that was meeting in the Breckenridge Movie Theatre in Little Rock. They enjoyed everything about the Fellowship Bible Church Ministry and Beau and Holly enjoyed their wonderful Kids Ministry. Joe and Sharron remained there as members for over 40 Years.
During that time Fellowship began a Celebrate Recovery Ministry where Sharron furthered her walk with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. These are words from Sharron herself:
White as Snow
God filled the deep black hole in my heart with his Love. And restored my shattered soul. His blood has cleansed my Sins and made me as White as Snow. What a loving God. I needed to make some major changes in my life to follow Him. I gave up my will and control and most of all I gave my husband back to Him so he could be free to become the Man that God created him to be. God was waiting for that. He has restored our marriage. Today I can tell you that it is so much more, much more than I could have ever imagined it could be!!! I just had to let go and let GOD. I felt so free and loved.
After I became a leader here at Celebrate Recovery, God asked me to help start a group for woman just like me. I said ?God I am not the right one to do that. I don't think I can.? God said, ?You are the right one because I chose you. Just show up, and I will do all the work?. We started the Emotional, Physical and Sexual Abuse Group here, and God has given me the privilege of watching Him restore lives. You see with God there is no darkness that He can't make disappear. No depth of depression He can't reach. And no devastation he can't redeem. I believe it is important where I started out in my life, but it matters more where I FINISH. God has saved ME, loved ME and made a place for ME with HIM.

Sharron was preceded in death by her parents, Sandra Russ; her sister, and Fredrick Butler; her brother. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Joseph Henry Bass, Cynthia Sher; her sister, her children Wendy Lilley, Adrian Beau Bass and Holly Noel Bujarski, her grandchildren; Tyler Lilley, Colton Barton, Bailey Lilley and Nola Bujarski, and 5 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the Staff of Legacy Hospice and friend Tara Rowland for taking such great care of her.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 21 from 4 to 6 p.m., at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 Highway 5 N, Alexander, AR 72002. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 22 at 2 p.m. at Pinecrest Funeral Home, with burial service to follow.
