  Notes	Find-a-Grave Obituary Marjorie Deane Bass Claus Marjorie Claus was born on April 22, 1923, in Marcus, Iowa. She was the daughter of Hobert and Maggie (Thornbury) Bass. She lived her youth in several communities in Missouri. She graduated from high school in Shawnee Mound, Missouri in 1941. She was united in marriage to Marvin Ernest Claus of Ocheyedan, Iowa, on June 24, 1942, in Clinton, Missouri. They lived and farmed near Ocheyedan and Allendorf, Iowa, for many years. They retired in 1991, and moved into Ocheyedan. Marjorie was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan, where she was active when she was able. Church always came first. She also was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the church. Marjorie passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2006, at her residence in Ocheyedan. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter: Ruie Claus of Ocheyedan, IA; her son: Larry and his wife Karola Claus of Hensley, Arkansas; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers: Kenneth Bass of Springfield, Missouri and Lewis Bass of Bedford, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin, and three brothers.
