Dennis Allen McBride Sr.

Mr. Dennis Allen McBride, Sr., 70, of Sylvania, passed away Saturday night in the Carl Vinson Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia. He was born September 18, 1947, in Screven County to the late Jesse and Mabel Bassett McBride, a member of McDonald Baptist Church, and a retired carpenter and cabinet maker. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and loved to fish and make a garden. Besides his Parents he was preceded in death by his Sisters: Elma M Johnson, Lois M Brant and Udelee (Patricia) M. Cavanaugh, His Brothers: Jack McBride, Lahue McBride and Lester McBride. Survivors include: His Wife: Linda Flanders McBride of Sylvania, A Daughter, Heather B. Howard and Ryan Forehand of Sylvania, A Son: Allen McBride of Sylvania, Sisters and Brothers-in-Law: Nell and Jim Ezell of Savannah, Ann M. and Glenn Thompson of Sylvania, Dean M. and Mike Lowe of Tybee Island, Georgia, Pricilla M. Grizzle of St. Louis, Missouri, A Brother and Sister-in-Law: Bob and Cynthia McBride of Sylvania, A Sister-in-Law: Patricia S. McBride of Aiken, South Carolina, A Brother-in-Law: Marvin Johnson of Asheville, North Carolina, Sister-In-Law: Dianne Brown, Sylvania, GA, Grandchildren: Lily Howard, Mason Forehand and Sadie Forehand and A Number of Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services for Mr. McBride will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. at the McDonald Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Peedin and Brother Toby Skrine officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Robert Thompson, Brandon McBride, Patrick Lowe, Ryan Forehand, Glenn Thompson and Bobby Gulley. Visitation will be at the church Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home of Sylvania is in charge of all arrangements. (912-564-2331)
