Donald Artwin Donnie Bass

Donald "Donnie" Artwin Bass, 81, of Ringgold, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2023, at Sovah Health Danville.
Born on August 26, 1941, he was a son of the late James Eugene Bass and Edith Lewis Bass of Alton. On July 28, 1962, he married Patsy Hunt Bass who survives. Patsy and Donnie had many wonderful years together.
Donald grew up on the family farm in Alton and continued to own and treasure this land. He loved to just sit on the porch and enjoy the view. Another passion was restoring antique cars. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church of Alton.
Donald retired from Goodyear after 30 years of service and enjoyed life to the fullest until his decline in health.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Barbara Collie of Verona; sister-in-law, Nancy Hunt of Milton, N.C.; nieces, Pamela Davis (Tracey) of Staunton, and Kim Chandler of Verona; nephews, James Bass (Diane) of Ringgold, and Glen Hunt (Courtney) of Ashburn; his best friend, Joel Bryant; and his loving cat, Sallie.
Donald was predeceased by his parents; a brother, James Earl Bass; and a nephew Paul Bass.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 6, 2023, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Wrenn- Yeatts Westover Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in Highland Burial Park with the Reverend Cathy Roach officiating.
