Doris Grannis Maring
Doris Grannis Maring, 82, of Everett, left this earth May 3, 2006. She was born October 13, 1923, in Sheridan, Wyoming. Doris grew up in Anacortes, Washington, graduating from Anacortes High School. She went on to Seattle Bible Institute (N.W. Bible College). She married Mike Grannis, in 1947, and moved to Everett where they raised three children. He preceded her in death and later she married Forrest Maring and moved to Leavonworth, Washington. They moved back to Everett a few years ago. Forrest preceded her in death. Doris is survived by her three children, Ronee (Craig) Anderson, Terry (Kathy) Grannis, and Janet Grannis; seven grandchildren, John (Brenda), Daniel Matthew (Stacey), C.J. (Rebecca), Michelle, Myleah and Elizabeth; seven great-grandchildren; her sister, Lillian Troxel; her brother, Frank (Delma) Bassett; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orie and Elizabeth Bassett; her brothers, Ray, Jack and Art; and sisters-in-law, Virgie, Virginia and Ginger. She was a member of Bethnay Christian Assembly and was involved with WMC's making clothes for missionaries children. She had an in home day care and was a professional seamstress and retired from Everett General Hospital as a seamstress in their sewing room. She will be miss greatly by her family and many friends. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2006, at Bethany Christian Assembly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Life Changes Ministries.
