Charles C. Bass Jr.
Charles C. Bass Jr., 84, retired Andalusia businessman, passed away Friday, October 10, 2003 in Andalusia Regional Hospital, after a declining illness of several years. In his final hours, he was surrounded by his loving family.He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Brunson Bass; three daughters, Sue Bass Wilson, Sally Bass Gilmer of Mobile, Julie Bass McDonald; one son, Charles C. Bass III; nine grandchildren, Wynne Wilson Glenn, Blaine Lee Wilson, William Joshua Curts of Norfolk, Virginia, Julie Curts Pierson of Mobile, John Michael McDonald of Tallahassee, Florida, Ashley Morgan McDonald, Courtney Jane Bass, Clara Marjorie Bass, Rosemary Brunson Bass; three great-grandchildren, Hampton Scott Glenn, Charles Steadman Glen, Isaiah Keegan Curts of Mobile; and one sister Mary Jane Bass Standley.Pallbearers will be Charles Brunson III, Joshua Curts, Shannon Glenn, Michael McDonald, Jesse Shealey, George Taylor, Blaine Wilson, and Jimmy Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be William "Chick" Earle, M.S. Hooper, Scotty Hooper, John Scott Merrill, James Minuard, Dr. Joe Sox and Bill Windsor.Burial will be in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery and immediately following the 10 a.m. visitation and the 11 a.m. funeral services at the First Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 14, 2003.Reverend Joel Faircloth of the First Baptist Church and Reverend Frank Beall of the First Presbyterian Church will be officiating. Soloist, Reverend Don Lingle, organist, Jeanice Kirkland, pianist, Mary Clyde Merrill, and the FBC Adult Choir Men's Quartet will present special music.Flowers will be graciously accepted or memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church or First Presbyterian Church building funds or the C.C. Bass Scholarship Endowment Fund at the LBW Community College.Funeral arrangements were by Gilmer's Funeral Home of Mobile.
