Obituary
Fuller Jackson Bass was born in Wilson County, Tennessee near Knoxville, October 8, 1846 and departed this life February 19, 1926, at the home of his son, Elbert J. Bass. He came with his parents to Illinois when but a lad, later they moved to Missouri where he grew to manhood. It was at this place where he was united in marriage to Miss Margarett Sylvia Moore. To this union were born seven children, six of whom are living. They are: William E. Bass of Elmwood, Okla., Mrs. Stelle Vaughn of Wichita, Mrs. Mollie Nolan of Ada Okla., Mrs. Lizzie Rash of Sitka, Kansas, Mrs. Maggy Coffie of Los Angeles, California, Elbert J. Bass of Elmwood, Okla, one boy of seven years and his wife preceded him to the grave.
Grandpa bass, as we all called him, with his wife united with the Baptist church at Thomas, Okla, where they were living when she passed away. He came to Beaver County in 1903. He proved up a claim and has since made his home with his youngest son Elbert J. He had been in feeble health for some time, but was bedfast for more than eleven weeks. All was done for him that loving hands could do. He bore his afflictions with the greatest of patience, just waiting for the summons to come.
Funeral services were held at the Mountain View Baptist church by Rev. Ben Barker of Beaver and the remains laid to rest in the Mountain View Cemetery.
