She married Malcolm E. Adams on September 27, 1939. She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, a grandson and a great-granddaughter. Sarah's survivors included her husband, Malcolm; three daughters and sons-in-law, Marian Marshaleen and Robert Phillips, Donna Kay and Samuel Cecil and Helen and Jimmie Kitterrman; a son and daughter-in-law, Danny Joe and Jennifer Adams; twelve grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on January 21, 2004 in the Wagner and Hughes Family Mortuary in Noblesville, Hamilton County, Indiana with interment in the Crownland Cemetery, Noblesville, Indiana.
