Bass, son of henry V. and Louisa Moore Bass was born September 26, 1870 in Lukin township, Lawrence County, Sumner, Ill. He departed this life March 29, 1950, at the age of 79 years, six months and three days. He was united in marriage to Sarah A. Jones, April 9, 1893. To this union was born ten children, all of whom survive, namely: Olive M. Wright of Robinson; Josephene Vandament, St. Louis, Mo.; Samuel and David Bass, and Mary Perry of Bridgeport; Beulah Seitzinger, Birds; Edward G. Bass, Sumner; Bessie Fiscus and Ruth Adams, Noblesville, Ind.; and Bernell Michaels of Carmel, Ind. Others surviving besides the ten children are his wife, 31 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, one brother, Charles F. Bass of Lawrenceville and a host of relatives and friends who mourn their loss.
