Rex A. Bassett
Rex A. Bassett, 70, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born on August 10, 1940 in Xenia, Illinois to Claude Bassett and Faye Kutsinger Bassett.
He graduated from Flora High School in Flora, Illinois. He married Carolyn Bailey on December 25, 1961 in Keenes, Illinois. In 1974 they moved from Illinois to Lookout, Arkansas, where they owned and operated Lookout Grocery for 21 years. He retired from Preform Line Products. He loved to hunt, fish and play golf.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Max Bassett.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bassett of Bella Vista, Arkansas; one son, Rick Bassett and wife, Cindy of Bella Vista, Arkansas; two daughters, Cindy Brown and husband, Rick of Cave Springs, Arkansas, Cheryl Renner and husband, Dave of Fayetteville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Hoby Brown and wife, Amanda, Haley Brown, Beau Brown and Magen Germany; and two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Braylen.
Open House for family and friends will be Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 12:00 - 5:00 p.m. at 2 Sherman Drive, Bella Vista, Arkansas. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas.
