Geneva B. Sauls
Geneva Bass Sauls, 85, died July 16, 2009, at McComb Extended Care. Services were Saturday at East Union Baptist Church with Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in charge. Dr. Emon White and the Rev. Glen Crane officiated. Burial was in the Sauls Cemetery in Lawrence County.
Mrs. Sauls was born Jan. 24, 1924, in Oakvale, to Robert Isaac Bass and Beulah Bozeman Bass.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Winfield Scott Sauls; a brother, Robert Oscar Bass; three stepchildren, Doris Sauls Bass, Pat Sauls and Jimmy Sauls.
Survivors include a sister, Geraldine Bass Kirkland of Magnolia; five stepchildren, Buddy Sauls of Ruth, Dorothy Jean Martin of Beaumont, Texas, Glen Sauls of Byram, Florence "Boots" Carney and Billy Ray Sauls of Monticello; and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Hucabee, Snuffy Smith, David Barber, Jimmy Robinson, Doyle Graves and James Forman. Honorary pallbearers were James Frank Williamson, Glen Sterling, Mike Oliver, Brett Simmons, C.W. McKey and Billy Morgan.
