Mr. Bass was born to Mr. Charlie R. Bass and Mrs. Polly Pratt Bass on May 8, 1953, in Forsyth County. He was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for three years. He also attended North Forsyth High School. He is survived by his mother, Pollyanna P. Bass; his father, Charlie R. Bass; brother Tim P. Bass; sister Janet Clayton and husband James; nieces Sarah, Jenny, Lyndsey and Amber; nephews Grayson, Justin, Ryan and Timothy; great-niece Madelyn; and a special friend, Pam Robertson. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, with the Rev. Johnson Gupton officiating. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 17, at Vogler & Sons Funeral Home Reynolda Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home at 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to the V.A. Hospital.
