Haywood Bass, Jr., 75, of Chester, Va. went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Mary Bell Bass; parents; 4 brothers and 5 sisters. He is survived by a sister, Dorothy Hargrave; sons, Haywood Bass III (Robbie), Christopher and Jesse Pritchard; daughters, Candi Hoover (Scooter), Rosa Harris and Tina Jefferies; grandchildren, Haywood Todd Bass, devin Converse, L.C. Bowen, Christina Warren, Amanda Pritchard, Heather and David Ritz, Melissa Caldwell, Chance Hoover, Michael and Wayne Flowers and countless other beloved family and close friends. haywood was a devoted husband and father that enjoyed spending time with his family, travelling, fishing and dancing. He was a devoted member of Chester Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, at Bliley?s-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 29. Interment of follow in Dale Memorial Park.
