Mrs. Elva Rush
Mrs. Elva Rush, 88, of Mentone, died at noon Tuesday at the McDonald hospital of complications following an illness of six months.
Mrs. Rush was born in Wabash county Sept. 21, 1867, the daughter of William and Sarah Coomler. She had resided in Mentone for the past 10 years, but has been a resident of Kosciusko county since 1901. She was married to Bert Rush in 1888 at Swayzee. He preceded her in death in 1951. Mrs. Rush was a member of the Mentone Church of Christ.
Surviving are three sons, Fred, of Route 5, Warsaw, Roy, of Mentone, and Earl, of Detroit, Mich.; one brother, Elmer Coomler, of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Leprell, of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. Myrtle McKeever, of Jonesboro, Ind.; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. One son, Ray, died in 1949, and a grandson, Earl Rush was killed during World War II.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 at Jo?? funeral home, Mentone. Rev. Leslie Grant of the Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Palestine cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
