Mrs. Rose Morrison, 83, Dies At home Of Daughter Near Lake Wawasee
Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Morrison, aged 83, for many years a resident of Mentone and vicinity, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Johns funeral home, with Mrs. Lloyd Boyll, pastor of the Mentone Church of Christ, in charge. Burial will be in the Mentone Cemetery.
Mrs. Morrison died at 2 a.m. Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mabel Delano, who resides on the south side of Lake Wawasee. Death followed a serious illness of four and one-half months due to a stroke of paralysis.
She was born in Wabash county June 10, 1864, the daughter of William and Sarah Coomler. In 1866, she was married to Joe Morrison, of Grant county. They resided in Grant county until 1901, when they came to this county and engaged in farming near Claypool and Mentone. In 1921 they retired and moved to Mentone where Mr. Morrison died in 1924. An infant daughter also preceded her in death.
The deceased was a member of the Mentone Church of Christ.
Surviving relatives in addition to her daughter, Mrs. Delano, include two sons, Dale Morrison, of Wabash, and Olin D. Morrison, of Athens, O.; give grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Elva Rush, of near Burket, Mrs. Emma La Trelle, of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. Myrtle McKeever, of Jonesboro, Ind.
