She was Baptist by faith and a member of Southwide Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher. She was also a High School English teacher at Walton High School for over thirty years, before retiring. Mrs. Bass was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Moses Holland Barkley, Sr. and Emmaline Davis Barkley; her husband of thirty-seven years, George Donald Bass; and one brother, Moses Holland Barkley, Jr. Visitation: 6:00~8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
