He was a retired mechanic for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Catchings Chapel, with the Rev. Howard Brister officiating. He is survived by a wife Daisy Bass of McComb; two sons, Estus Bass of Dallas, Texas, and Charles Brown of Chalmette, La.; three daughters, Mrs. Virgil Cooper of Dallas, Louise Smith of McComb, and Mrs. Otis Bass of Pascagoula; a brother Otis Bass of Pascagoula; two sisters, Mrs. Alfred Kirkfield of McComb, and Mrs. Frank Blailock of McComb; and 10 grandchildren. Burial was in Hollywood Cemetery. Catchings Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
