Mrs. John M. Bass, Sr., Dies
Aunt of W.E. Robertson of McComb Passed At Hazlehurst
Mrs. John M. Bass, Sr., aunt of Warren Ellis Robertson, manager of the Home Furniture Company, of McComb, a life-long resident of Copiah county and one of the most beloved women of that county died at her home in Hazlehurst Friday night of a heart attack.
Mrs. Bass, who was 72 years old, was born in Copiah county and had made her home in Hazlehurst for many years.
In addition to Mr. Robertson, Mrs. Bass is survived by her husband, her sons, J.M. Bass, Jr. and Meredith Bass, of Hazelhurst, her daughters, Mrs. William Spitchley, Miss Ruth Bass, Miss Catherine Bass and Miss Doris Bass, of Jackson and a sister, Mrs. George Ainsworth and her brother, Dr. G.W. Robertson, of Magnolia. She also was a sister of the late Dr. W.W. Robertson of McComb.
Mrs. Bass was a member of the Baptist church at Hazlehurst and one of its most active works.
Funeral services were held at the family home in Hazlehurst Saturday afternoon at 3 o?clock. Interment was in the Hazlehurst cemetery.
