In loving memory of Sally Kay Bassett (Lincoln) who passed away on June 5, 2010, at the age of 80.
Sally was born in Tustin, Mich., the first child of the New Year in 1930, for which she was awarded a five-dollar gold piece from the governor of Michigan. She grew up in Michigan and California. She graduated from the University of California at Berkley with a degree in education, and a minor in archaeology. She moved to Arizona in 1957, where she was a substitute teacher at Jerome High School.
Sally learned to repair antique clocks and, together with her husband "Bud," was a successful antique dealer for 40 years. She loved traveling, gardening, cooking, tennis, dogs and most everything outdoors. She was a good listener and will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Sally is survived by her husband of 57 years, Howard "Bud" Bassett; a sister; two daughters; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, at Thumb Butte Park in the ramada. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Yavapai County Humane Society, 1625 Sundog Ranch Road, Prescott, AZ 86301.
