Edward Monroe Bass
Bass, Edward Monroe - 71, of Kelly, died Sunday, September 28, 1997 at the CitizensMedical Center in Columbia Heights.He was a bridge supervisor for T.L. James Company, and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was also a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church near Olla.He was born June 3, 1926, to the union of Grover Richard and Mary Duke Bass.Services were held Tuesday, September 30, 1997 at the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia with Reverend Ronnie Tarver officiating.Interment followed in the Good Hope Cemetery near Kelly under direction of Riser and Son, Columbia.Survivors include his wife, Grace Avery Bass of Kelly; two sons, Wayne Bass of Snellings, Georgia, and Patrick Bass of Kelly; two daughters, Vivian Bass of Denver, Colorado, and Diane Lake of Grayson; one brother, Richard "Bud" Carroll Bass of Iot Lake; three sisters, Lavilla Martin of West Monroe and Patsy Bass of Alexandria; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
