  Notes	Father was from Mount Eden. Obituary Mrs. Harriett Adelle Bassett, mother of Lieut C. Bassett, VC, died at her residence, Burleigh Street, Mt Eden on Wednesday after a short illness. She was a daughter of the late Sergeant Thomas Elwymn Powley, one of the early pioneers and a sister of Mr. G.H. Powley of Hamilton road. She was much loved and respected, by all who knew her, and her loss is deeply felt by a wi circle of friends. She is survived by her husband Mr. F.C. Bassett, and her 3 children, Lieut Bassett VC, of the National Bank, Mrs. P. Smytheman of Warkworth and Mrs. E. Waller of Mangtangi.
