She was the widow of the late Luke Bassett, also, a church and civic leader, and operated a grocery business for over 40 years. She was the mother, of Mr. Luke Burnell Bassett of Hollis, New York; Mrs. Della B. Branch, Hempstead, New York, Mrs. Louise B. Williamson, Washington, D.C.; sister of Mrs. Lizzie Yuille and Mr. Arthur Rogers, Rt., Brookneal; also survived by four grandson and two great granddaughters. Family will receive friends Sunday evening, January 30, from 5:30 to 7 P.M. in the Chapel of Jeffress Funeral Home, Brookneal. Funeral service will be held Monday, January 31, at 1 P.m. at the Spring Hill Baptist Church on Rt. 2, Brookneal. The Reverend E.B. Harris officiating. Interment in the church cemetery.
