Evelyn Ann Bass Patrick
Evelyn Patrick died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, of a heart attack at Baton Rouge General Medical Center ? Mid City. She was 85, born April 28, 1919, in Hazlehurst, Miss. She was a former longtime resident of Metairie and a resident of Southside Gardens Assisted Living, Baton Rouge. She was a 1940 graduate of the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), where she earned a bachelor?s degree in education and was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. After graduation, she moved to New Orleans and worked in public service and for Walther Brothers, where she demonstrated appliances and taught cooking classes until her marriage. Many years later, she worked at Apex Employment in Metairie as a placement counselor in the sales division. She will be remembered by her family as a loving and generous sister, Mother and grandmother, as well as a wonderful cook and talented seamstress. She was an avid reader and loved to travel and play bridge. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Morgan Bass and Kate Bridges Bass; a sister, Rosemary Bass Hall; and her husband, Charles Dewey Patrick. She is survived by a brother, John Bass of Jackson, Miss.; three daughters and their husbands, Katy Patrick Robinson and Dwight Robinson of Wesson, Miss., and their children, Russell Robinson, Anna Robinson, Morgan Robinson and Sarah Robinson; Erin Patrick Hebert and Mickey Hebert of Baton Rouge and their children, Alaina Hebert and Emmaline Hebert; and Sharon Patrick ?Muffin? Wetherford and Jimmy Wetherford of Rosedale and their children, Taylor Wetherford and Kate Wetherford; and three step-grandchildren, Dwight Robinson Jr., and Kelly Harrison, both of Wesson, Miss., and Gabrielle Hebert of San Diego. Visitation at 9 a.m. Friday Aug. 13, at United Methodist Church, Hazlehurst, until religious service at 10 a.m. Interment in Hazlehurst Cemetery.
