Died at Killam, April 27; Mary Ellen Brodie (widow of the late Hugh Brodie, Wetaskiwin) aged 61 years and 8 months. Deceased was born in Picton, Ontario where she was joined in matrimony to her late husband, who pre-deceased her years ago. In 1905 Mr. and Mrs. Brodie were residents of Wetaskiwin where Mr. Brodie had charge of the electric line work and where he met his untimely end. She leaves to mourn her loss four daughters and three sons, namely: Mrs. Bassett of Oklahoma; Mrs. Ewing of Idaho; Mrs. Lundell of Daysland; Mrs. Alderman of Edmonton; Gordon of Killam, Hugh of Daysland and William at home, also 14 grandchildren and a brother and sister residing in Ontario. Deceased had a large circle of friends and the many beautiful flowers bore testimony of the high esteem in which the deceased was held. Interment took place last Sunday and her remains were laid beside her husband in the family plot of the Wetaskiwin cemetery. Moore & Kellner were in charge of the local funeral arrangements.
