In the Name of God, Amen. I Isaac Bass of Nash County, State of North Carolina being sick and weak but of sound mind and perfect memory do ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form as followeth:
I lend unto my beloved wife Nancy Bass four negroes called Penp, Hall, Patience and Phill in during her life all so choice of four head of my horse also twenty head of my choice cattle and also thirty head of my choice hoggs also four feather beds and also all my ? of her life and furniture and also all my sheep and gees.
I give and bequeth unto my son Jethro Bass, one hundred and fifty acres of land more or less beginning at a red oak on Charles Browns line running to the head of the long meadow and down the various courses of Benson pen branch to great peach tree creek and down the various courses of the said creek to White heads line and down whitehead line to his one line. All so I give and bequeath my son Jethro BASS, two negroes by the name of Hall and Phill after his mothers death also I give and bequeath unto my son Jesse Bass two negroes by the name of York and Moll also I give and bequeath to my grandson Isaac Bass son of Jesse Bass, one feather bed and furniture called the Roanoke Bed, also give and bequeath unto my son Isaac Bass, all my Beech Swamp land and one negro feller named Roger, also I give and bequeath to my son John Bass, one negro the name of Patience, after his mothers death also I give and bequeath unto my son Augustin Bass all the remainder of my lands and plantation after his mothers death and also I give and bequeath to my son Augustin Bass, two negroes, one by the name of Bob after my decease and the other by the name Penp after his mothers decease and also I give and bequeath unto my son Augustin Bass my mill. I give and bequeath unto my grandson John Davinport, one negro boy by the name of Ceasar. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Nise Rogers seventeen pounds Virginia money, and also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Lovicey Lawrence, one negro girl by the name of Cate and seventeen pounds Virginia money and that to be all they are of my estate.
It is my will and desire after my debts is paid that the rest of my estate shall be equally divided between my sons Jethro Bass, Jesse Bass, John Bass and Augustin Bass and further more I appoint my son Jethro Bass and Jesse Bass holley and solley my executors of this my last will and testament revoking all former wills by me hearto four made and do establish this to be my last will and testament.
