September 1, 2011 Betty Virginia Bassett (nee Smith), 92, formerly of Beulah Beach, Vermilion, died Thursday, September 1, 2011 at East Park Care Center, Brookpark. Betty was born December 3, 1918 in Cleveland, and had been a Brookpark resident for the past 3 years. She was a member of Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church. She enjoyed playing the organ, knitting, needlework, writing and reading. She is survived by her husband, William Bassett; son, Larry Bassett of Mogadore; daughter, Jackie Moravcik of Cleveland, 11 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Christian and Helen (nee Chritchfield); sons, Donald Bassett and Douglas Bassett, and brothers, Thomas Smith and Charles Smith.
