Constance M. Bassett
Mrs. Constance M. (Smith) Bassett, 85, of Milford MA, died Friday (February 18, 2011) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after an illness. She was the wife of the late Edgar J. Bassett, who died in 1987. Mrs. Bassett was born in Natick MA, the daughter of the late John and the late Agnes (Hartley) Smith. She was the middle daughter of three, Evelyn Tenney, herself and Mabel Hanson. She attended St. Patricks parochial school in Natick MA. Mrs. Bassett had been a resident of Milford for the past thirty-one years and prior to that had resided in Holliston MA. She had worked for many years at the Foxtrot Coffee Shop in Framingham MA and at Galantes Coffee Shop located in Medway MA. Mrs. Bassett loved music, dancing, shopping and going to yardsales. She loved her family and will be greatly missed. Her family would like to thank the VNA of Milford and Lifeline, for all their assistance and also the kindness of the Milford Hospital medical team. Mrs. Bassett is survived by her 4 Children: Pamela and Russell Hawley of Rutland MA, Constance and Brian Landry of Tucson AZ, Nancy and Jim Butler of Milford MA and Dean Bassett of Milford MA; 9 Grandchildren: Brett, Adam and Curtiss Hawley; Matthew, Jennifer (Landry) McDaniel and Jessica Landry; David and Michael Simpson and Jacqueline Bassett; 5 Great Grandchildren: Nicolas and Matthew Hawley; Devon and Owen Hawley and Caleb McDaniel; she is also survived by her Brother-in-law: Lawrence Tenney of Medway MA. Her funeral will be held Wednesday (February 23rd) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in the Lower Chapel of Scared Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Private Committal Services will follow in Vernon Grove Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be Tuesday evening (Feb 22nd) from 5pm to 7pm.
