Peter Bassett’s dwelling house near Brockport was burned yesterday afternoon, with most of its contents. Loss, $2,000.

RED CREEK, Sept. 27 – Peter Bassett, 72, father of Joseph Bassett of this village, and of Bernard Bassett of Wolcott, died Thursday evening at his home in Brockport.
In addition to the sons mentioned, Mr. Bassett is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Bassett; three sons, Leo and Francis of Brockport, and Emmett of Chatham, Ont.; one daughter, Loretta of Brockport; one sister, Mrs. Delia Tyrrell of Rochester, and 24 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning at the Church of the Nativity at Brockport at 9:30 o’clock.
