Mrs. Mandana Prosser Bassett, who passed away on Friday, September 4th, at the age of 86 years, was a lifelong and highly respected resident of the town of Kendall. She was the youngest and last survivor of thirteen children born to Philo F. and Celetti Prosser, who were among the pioneers of this section and who took up lane on the west side of what is now the Orleans-Monroe County Line about a mile south of Lake Ontario (Troutburg). Mrs. Bassett is survived by two sons, Fred of Geneva, N.Y., and Wilbur of Rochester, and a daughter, Mrs. Florris Botting of Morton with who she had lived for the past eight years. Also four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held from the home of her daughter on Sunday afternoon conducted by the Rev. C.F. Eddy. Interment at Lakeside cemetery.
