Eva Jackson Dawson Bassett
January 10, 1911 -- April 29, 2011
Eva Jackson Dawson Bassett "Mama D", age 100, of Avery, Texas, passed away Friday, April 29, 2011 at her residence. Ms. Bassett was born January 10, 1911 in Red River County, Texas. She was a retired teacher and affiliated with Avery Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hugh Livingston Dawson, Jr., and Morris Bassett; and her son, Kennith Lynn Dawson.
She is survived by one brother, Joe Jackson of Kirbyville, Texas; daughter-in-law, Bernice Reed Dawson of Avery, Texas; three granddaughters and spouses, Lisa and Mike Clark of Avery, Texas; Regina and Terry Carson of New Boston, Texas; and Kim and Josh Dillon of Addison, Texas; great-grandchildren, Keith and Keri Clark of Avery, Texas; Dawson, Drew and Oliver Carson of New Boston, Texas; and Ava and Mason Dillon of Addison, Texas; great-great-grandchildren, Maknli Long and Lyle Kelsoe-Clark of Avery, Texas and sisters-in-laws, Elaine Jackson of Sherman, Texas; and Jean Jackson of Avery, Texas.
Graveside services were held Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 4 p.m. at English Cemetery in English, Texas with Brother Gary McCain officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Avery Methodist Church or English Cemetery.
