Thomas Owen Bassett, age 79, of Douglasville passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023. He was born in Fort McPherson, Kentucky on December 27, 1943 to the late John Owen Bassett and the late Marion Taylor Bassett. Thomas was retired from the Local 72 Plumbers Union with more than 55 years of service.
He is survived by his children, Chris Bassett (Tina) of Hampton, Georgia; Sandra Rogers of Winston, Georgia; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Moser, Debbie Hudgins, Jan Bassett.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was also preceded in death by his wife, Frances Jackeline Harper Bassett; son-in-law, Ronnie Rogers; son, Randy Bassett; brother, Johnny Bassett; daughter-in-law, Gennia Bassett.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Hightower?s Memorial Chapel in Douglasville.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Hightower?s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Gene Fields officiating. Eli Bryant, Nick Hardy, Tyler Hardy, Aaron Hardy, Corey Lee Melton, Aiden Melton, and James Melton will be serving as pall bearers.
Interment will be at Friendship Baptist Church in Winston, Georgia.
