Carol R. Bassett
Carol Ruth Bassett, 69, of Benson, NC, formerly of Danbury, wife of the late Lee Randall Bassett, died on Saturday, May 17th in North Carolina. She was born on January 13, 1945, one of thirteen children born to the late William and Ruth (Mosher) Meade of Danbury. She was a graduate of Danbury High School and was a past member of the New Life Methodist Church in New Fairfield.
Over the years, Carol worked for several area companies, including American Tile, Branson Ultrasonic and Filenes. Carol enjoyed the NY Yankees, playing cards and Dominoes. Most importantly, Carol's life was centered around her faith and her family. She was a devoted mother who put her children's needs before her own. Her happiest times were spent with her children and grandchildren.
Carol will be sadly missed by her beloved children, Pastor Michael Bassett and his wife Donna, of Benson NC; daughter Stacey Carroccio and her husband Christian (DPD) of New Milford; six cherished grandchildren Isaac, Abigail, Caleb, and Lydia Bassett, Alexandra and Cameron Carroccio; her two brothers Keith and Duanne Meade; five sisters Colleen Morris, Korrine Schaper, Janice Webb, and Janet Geeslin, Terri Buttery; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday, May 22nd at New Life Methodist Church, New Fairfield, at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Ridgebury Cemetery, Ridgefield. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 21st at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00pm.
