William Bassett 3d
Funeral services were to be held this afternoon for William Judson Bassett III, 31 of 2225 Edward Lane, Yorktown Heights, N.N., where he moved from Harrison two months ago. He was killed in an auto accident in Harrison Friday night.
He was born Sept. 9, 1942, in Rye, son of William J. Bassett Jr. and Mrs. Alice Gardiner Bassett of Rye. His father is general manager of The Daily Item and editor general manager of the Mamaroneck Times.
He graduated from Rye High School in 1961 and from Westchester Community College in 1972. Time sharing supervisor at General Food Corp. in White Plains, where he worked for 10 years, he was also a senior at Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry at the time of his death.
He was a parishioner of the Church of St. Gregory the Great in Harrison.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lorraine Lamparelli Bassett; three children, William John,5, John Jason, 3 and Joy Kathleen, 5 months, three brothers George of Cocoanut Grove, Fla., Richard and Michael of Rye.
Burial was in St. Mary?s Cemetery, Rye Town, following a funeral Mass at St. Gregory.
