Woodrow Bass business leader dies at 82
Woodrow Peoples Bass, 82, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday in Carolina Inn.
Mr. Bass was the founder and chairman of Bass Air Conditioning Company. He was a founding member and former president of the North Carolina Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors Association. He was a past treasurer of the Fayetteville Area Chamber of Commerce; a past director and treasurer of the Methodist College Foundation; a past president of Fayetteville Lions Club; a past president of the Boys Club of Cumberland County; and a trustee of Campbell University in Buies Creek. Mr. Bass was a member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and moderator. He was a past chairman of the finance committee at Snyder Memorial.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church by Dr. David Crocker, the Rev. Sandy Saunders and Dr. Jim Cammack. Burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park.
Mr. Bass is survived by his wife, Barbara Bass of the home; two sons, Allan Bass of Fayetteville and David Bass of Greensboro; three daughters, Elaine Harris of Stedman, Sandra Wiche of Bismarck, N.D., and Julie Harris of Erwin; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
