Ronald Irving Bassett of Danbury, a former Ridgefield resident who was born here June 15, 1910, died in Danbury Hospital on Friday, September 15, after a short illness. He was 62.
Mr. Bassett was the son of the late Clifford and Hannah Tower Bassett and he lived in Ridgefield until moving to Danbury five years ago. He was a carpenter with the Ted Hobbs Co. in New Canaan, was a member of the Jerusalem Lodge, the Odd Fellows in Ridgefield, and an honorary member of the Ridgefield Fire Department.
Survived by his wife, the former Lillian Edwards; two sons, Ronald or Ridgefield, and Fred serving with the Navy in Imperial Beach, California; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Pigano of Westbrook and Miss Lou Ann Bassett of Ridgefield, and six grandchildren.
Services were Monday, September 18, at the Kane Funeral Home, with the Rev. Clayton Lund officiating.
Burial was in Mapleshade cemetery.
