Born July 26, 1908, in Ridgefield, he was the son of the late Clifford and Jennie Towers Bassett. He was a member of the Ridgebury Congregational Church and its Board of Deacons, and was active in all church affairs. He was also a member of Pilgrim Lodge I.O.O.F. of Ridgefield. Besides his wife, Mrs. Edna Smith Bassett, he leaves a son, Lee R. Bassett of Danbury; a daughter Miss Jane C. Bassett of Ridgebury, and a brother, Ronald I. Bassett of Danbury. Services will be held Friday at 2p.m. at the Ridgebury Congregational Church, with the Rev. Michael Stevens, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Ridgefield cemetery, at the convenience of the family. Friends may call the Hull Home, 60 Division Street Danbury, Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. with the Pilgrim Lodge officers and members of the I.O.O.F. conducting a memorial service Thursday at 8 p.m. The Bridgeport Post, Thursday, January 18, 1968 Everett L.
