Bonnie Joiner Bassett
Age 86. Passed away Saturday, July 1, 2000, at Specialty Care Center in Pensacola. She was a resident of Mobile since 1931. Mrs. Bassett was born in Jackson, Alabama, September 7, 1913. She was a lifelong member of Government Street Baptist Church and a member of the Women's Club. She was employed by the Plitt Southern Theaters for many years. Bonnie was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She never met a stranger and shared with everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Bassett Sr., her grandson Shane Bassett (16) and her best friend "Smokie". Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, William "Bill" (Carolyn) Bassett of Pensacola and George "Dick" (Shirley) Bassett of Mobile; six grandchildren, Billy, Lowell, Robby, John Michael, Rickly and Lynn; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren Billy Bassett, Lowell Bassett, Robert Nabors, Bradley Bassett of Shane Bassett (deceased), John Michael Bassett and Ricky Bassett. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2000. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 7, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home with burial services in Pine Crest Cemtery, Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile. Our sincere gratitude is extended to the employees of Speciality Care Center and Hospice for their love and care extended to Bonnie.
