Waylon Thomas Bass
Mr. Waylon Thomas "Sam" Bass, 77 of Marietta died Tuesday, July 7, 2009. Mr. Bass was born in Seaboard, NC and graduated from East Carolina University. He was a 12 year U.S. Air Force veteran spending most of his years in the Military Air Command flying various missions around the world. After his military career, Sam was a 25 year commercial pilot for Eastern Airlines. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Claudene Bass; daughter, Lori Robertson and her husband Scott of Suwanee, GA, two grandsons, Grant Robertson and Cole Robertson; two brothers, Russell L. Bass and Robert D. Bass, Jr. both of Seaboard, NC; a sister, Ruth Downing of Fayetteville, NC. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA with military honors. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Leukemia Society or any Hospice Organization. H.M. Patterson and Son, Canton Hill Chapel, 1157 Old Canton Rd, in charge of arrangements.
