Services for Vonnie Leo Bass, Jr., 79, of Pelham will be held Monday, April 2, 2018 at Hand Memorial Methodist Church at 3:00PM. Rev. Andy Frazier will officiate. Born February 13, 1939 in Grady County he was the son of the late Vonnie Leo Bass, Sr. and Mable Akridge Bass. Mr. Bass passed away Friday, March 31, 2018 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. He was married to Virginia Hamilton Bass who survives. He was a retired supervisor for Superior Surgical. He was a loving husband, father and friend who enjoyed using his talents to help others and played music for nursing homes. God needed a great base player and called Mr. Vonnie. He is survived by his wife Virginia Bass of Pelham; sons, Keith Mills (Lorraine) of Leesburg; Kevin Bass (Renee) of Jacksonville; a daughter, Delonda Wood of Leesburg; Grandchildren, MacKenzie Mills, Madison Bass, Brady Bass and Mason Wood; step grandchildren, Julie Skipper, Jennifer Turner, and Tom Youngblood; two sisters, Ann Lockhart and Sharon Daniels (Bill); a sister-in-law, Daphne Bass; aunt, Helen Willis; several nieces and nephews and his former wife and mother of his children, Charlotte Faye Horne Bass of Albany. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Ronnie Bass and a special uncle, Delmar Othell Bass. The family will receive friends on Monday at the church from 2:00PM-3:00PM.
