Melanie (Vail) Hester died peacefully in Dallas on June 16, 2020, at the age of 56. Melanie is survived by her husband, Steve Hester, her daughter, Abigail "Abby" Rose, her sisters Mary Ann Burns and Julie Burcham, her brother Richard Vail, and her nieces and nephews: Maggie, Patrick, Allison, Sarah, Elizabeth, Katie, Zach, and Reed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Martha (Bassett) Vail and Walter L. Vail, and her brothers William B. Vail and Walter P. Vail. The family will hold a private remembrance at Restland on June 27, and a memorial celebration for friends and family in Plano that afternoon. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Restland.
