      Mrs. Louella Towns

      Services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Sleeth Funeral Home for Mrs. Luella Towns, 85, who died Tuesday at the Shelbyville Rest Home. She had been ill for the past four years. Rev. Raymond Chapman will officiate and interment will be in Forest Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time. A lifelong resident of Shelby county, Mrs. Towns resided in Union township four miles south of Morristown. The daughter of Barton M. and Margaret Jane (Fisher) Talbert. She was born in Union township on Jan. 22, 1879. Her marriage to Sylvester Towns took place on Oct. 26, 1898. He preceded in death on June 6, 1958. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Harry (Elizabeth) Carter of Indianapolis; a brother, Harry Talbert of Shelbyville, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Towns was a lifetime member of the Blue River Chapel EUB Church.

      Sylvester (Bud) Towns

      Sylvester (Bud) Towns, 84 lifelong resident of Shelby county and former school teacher in Marion and Union townships, died at Major hospital at 11:00 p.m. Friday following an illness of several months. His home was in Union township where he was a retired farmer and at one time served as township trustee. Mr. Towns was born in Marion township on February 5, 1874. His parents were James and Cynthia Ellen (Rhodes) Towns. He was married October 26, 1898 to Louella Talbert who survives with four sisters and two brothers. The sisters, all living in this city, are Mrs. Nell Jones, Mrs. Nora Coers, Mrs. Blanche Talbert and Mrs. Bertha Golding. The brothers are Rev. Jess Towns and James Towns, both of Indianapolis. Mr. Towns was a member of the Little Blue River Chapel EBU church, where funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. William Cutshaw officiating. Burial in charge of the Sleeth Funeral Home, will be in Forest Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:00 this evening.
